Job Summary

The Lens Manufacturing Production Operator is responsible for operating production equipment and manual processes to manufacture optical lenses in full compliance with requirements.

Production Operations

  • Operate lens manufacturing machines (blocking, surfacing, polishing, coating, tinting, finishing) according to approved **Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)**
  • Follow validated process parameters and work instructions without deviation
  • Ensure correct job identification and processing at each production stage

Quality & Compliance (Iso And Sfda)

  • Perform in-process inspections in line with **quality control plans**
  • Identify and segregate non-conforming products according to **nonconformance procedures**
  • Immediately report deviations, defects, or process abnormalities

Documentation & Record Keeping

  • Complete production logs, batch records, and checklists in real time
  • Ensure all entries are accurate, legible, and compliant with **data integrity (ALCOA+) principles**
  • Follow document control procedures (use only latest approved SOP versions)

Equipment & Maintenance

  • Perform routine equipment checks and basic preventive maintenance
  • Ensure machines are in validated status before use
  • Report any malfunction or calibration issues immediately

Health, Safety & Environment

  • Follow all **EHS (Environment, Health & Safety)** policies and PPE requirements
  • Handle chemicals (coating, tinting) according to safety data sheets (SDS)
  • Maintain cleanroom or controlled environment standards where applicable

Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in audits (internal, external, SFDA inspections)
  • Support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Contribute to process improvement and waste reduction initiatives

Qualifications & Requirements

  • High school diploma or technical certification (preferred)
  • 1–3 years experience in manufacturing (optical or medical device preferred)
  • Familiarity with **ISO 9001 and/or ISO 13485** standards (advantage)
  • Basic understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
  • Ability to read and follow SOPs and technical instructions
  • Basic computer literacy for documentation and system entry

Working Conditions

  • Manufacturing / controlled environment (may include cleanroom)
  • Standing for extended periods
  • Exposure to machinery and approved chemicals
  • Mandatory use of PPE
  • Ability of working in deferent shifts.

Experience

  • Five : 1 year (Preferred)
