Position Overview
Legal Manager role within the Legal and Contracts Department of a construction and contracting company.
The position oversees contracts, claims, disputes, regulatory compliance, legal documentation, and strategic legal advice.
The role is located in the UAE and is full-time.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage legal matters related to construction and contracting activities.
- Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize construction contracts, subcontracts, agreements, MOUs, and legal documents.
- Advise management, project teams, commercial teams, and other departments on legal matters.
- Identify legal, commercial, and contractual risks in contractual terms.
- Handle claims, disputes, variations, extensions of time, and termination matters.
- Coordinate with external lawyers, consultants, government authorities, and legal representatives.
- Ensure compliance with applicable UAE laws, regulations, and contractual requirements.
- Support contract negotiations and dispute resolution with the Contracts and Commercial Departments.
- Monitor legal developments and advise management about business impacts.
- Prepare legal notices, responses, correspondence, and formal legal documents.
- Maintain records of contracts, cases, claims, notices, and legal documentation.
- Assist with litigation, arbitration, mediation, licensing, permits, registrations, and employment-related legal matters.
Requirements
- Experienced and qualified legal professional able to oversee legal matters for a construction and contracting company.
