Role Overview
Lead and coordinate urban and master-planning and design activities for local projects in Qatar.
The role covers planning guidance, design regulations, parcel planning, development proposals, stakeholder requests, and coordination with authorities.
Ideal Candidate
- Minimum six years of experience in real estate master planning across asset classes with large developers.
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, urban planning, or urban design.
- High-level understanding of government processes, policy development, and policy analysis related to land use planning, land management, and town planning requirements.
- Knowledge of city ordinances, rules, and regulations regarding land use, zoning, and permits.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide planning guidance regarding masterplans, design guidelines, and project development.
- Create and update design guidelines and building regulations for Lusail districts in line with the masterplan vision.
- Create and update parcel plans for individual plots in line with the masterplan vision.
- Prepare studies, reports, and recommendations on urban policy patterns and their impact on market trends.
- Provide information and support for cadastral survey work to establish or re-establish property boundaries.
- Lead correspondence and communications for land adjustments, plot-access changes, utility modifications, and GFA changes.
- Provide technical support to the Building Permit team to align submitted building designs with the Lusail masterplan vision.
- Manage day-to-day requests from developers, sub-developers, consultants, and other Lusail stakeholders regarding development proposals.
- Create and update guidelines for building signage and commercial activities in coordination with relevant authorities.
- Lead periodic surveys of Lusail and prepare reports investigating signage and commercial-activity violations.
- Liaise with government authorities to enhance and streamline departmental services.
