Role Overview

Lead the selection, sizing, configuration, and delivery of complex power quality solutions.

Work across the full project lifecycle from customer engagement and proposals through technical delivery and continuous improvement.

Collaborate with business verticals, platform engineering, supply chain, and the global engineering community.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead power quality system selection, sizing, and configuration for systems such as rotating stabilizers and STATCOMs.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation, calculations, drawings, proposal inputs, and contractual deliverables.
  • Develop and review system single-line diagrams, protection diagrams, and layouts for large projects.
  • Perform system design and analysis for VSD, SFC, and power quality solutions across industrial and utility applications.
  • Support ITO and OTR solution development and ensure technical risks are understood and managed.
  • Analyze customer contracts, prepare vendor specifications, and review vendor documentation.
  • Identify technical risks, develop mitigation plans, and improve processes, systems, equipment, and technologies.
  • Coordinate with engineering, supply chain, subcontractors, suppliers, and other GE Vernova entities.
  • Ensure compliance with company and customer EHS policies and procedures.
  • Drive lean thinking and optimum technical solutions for projects.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a reputed college or university.
  • At least 8 years of project or design engineering experience in power quality or VSD-based projects.
  • Experience in industrial, marine, oil and gas, or power domains.
  • Knowledge and application of international standards.
  • Ability to adapt, multitask, and solve problems analytically and innovatively.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • PLM and Primavera experience are advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel within the base country and overseas for assignments.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organization, prioritization, and time-management skills.

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of VSDs, SFCs, transformers, filters, motors, and other power system equipment.
  • Experience preparing system and protection single-line diagrams and layouts.
  • Selection and sizing of MV and LV VSD systems for oil and gas applications is advantageous.

Workplace and Travel

  • The source location is Chennai, India, and source metadata identifies the workplace as onsite.
  • The role includes short-notice travel within the base country and overseas for short- or long-term assignments.
