Role Overview
The Mastercard Payment Networks team is seeking a Lead Software Development Engineer to advance customer experience through innovation and problem-solving.
The role owns architecture, the end-to-end SDLC, and technical delivery for complex distributed systems.
The engineer will influence teams and engineering direction while delivering secure, scalable, high-quality solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Own architecture for scalable distributed systems, including microservices and event-driven platforms.
- Lead requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, release planning, and production support.
- Provide hands-on Java and Spring Boot backend leadership and drive technical decisions and engineering standards.
- Lead reviews, governance, security, compliance, CI/CD, automated testing, containerization, and cloud-native practices.
- Identify risks, resolve complex incidents, evaluate technologies, improve processes, mentor engineers, and share knowledge.
