Role Description
Form Energy is seeking a Lead Production Associate to join our dynamic team at Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV. In this role, you will be a key part of the production team, supporting Production Associates and reporting to the Production Supervisor to ensure the efficient and smooth operation of the production line. Your primary responsibility will be to assist with troubleshooting, monitor and track production downtime and limiters, and ensure that the production line is adequately supplied with the necessary materials and resources. Additionally, you will be tasked with leading by example, offering guidance to your fellow associates, and stepping in as needed to maintain productivity and quality standards.
What you'll do:
Troubleshooting & Problem Solving: Support Production Associates in resolving operational issues quickly and efficiently, reducing downtime and maintaining production flow. Provide hands-on assistance in troubleshooting machine or equipment malfunctions and escalate issues when necessary.
Monitor Production Limiters: Track production downtimes and ensure that production limiters are documented, analyzed, and addressed in a timely manner. Work to minimize stoppages and delays by anticipating potential production roadblocks.
Resource Coordination: Ensure that the production line has all necessary materials, tools, and resources to meet production goals. Proactively communicate with material handlers and inventory teams to minimize disruptions due to shortages or delays.
Team Leadership & Support: Act as the lead for a team of Production Associates, providing direction and support throughout the shift. Provide hands-on guidance and assist team members with production tasks as needed. Step in to perform tasks on the line when necessary to maintain production targets.
Assist Production Supervisor: Collaborate with the Production Supervisor on production goals, quality checks, and workflow management. Help facilitate communication between associates and management, ensuring team members are aligned with production priorities.
Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety standards and company policies. Promote a safety-first mindset and help identify potential hazards to maintain a safe work environment for the entire team.
Continuous Improvement: Contribute to process improvement initiatives, providing feedback and insights to enhance operational efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
What you'll bring:
Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a production environment. Experience in manufacturing or assembly line settings is preferred.
Technical Aptitude: Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to understand and resolve basic machine and process issues. Comfortable working with production equipment, machinery, and software.
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead a team, foster collaboration, and motivate others to meet production goals. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
Problem-Solving Ability: Ability to think on your feet and resolve challenges as they arise, with a focus on reducing downtime and improving production flow.
Detail-Oriented: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to track production data and report issues accurately.
Safety Conscious: A commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment. Knowledge of safety regulations and practices is preferred.
Flexibility: Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing production needs and schedules. Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
Where you'll work:
This role is based at Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV—an easy commute from the city of Pittsburgh, PA. This 550,000-square-foot facility is our hub for high-volume battery production and a leader in the new era of American energy manufacturing. Relocation assistance is available.
