Role overview
BIMM is hiring a hands-on Lead Mobile Developer for a contract engagement building a web-first companion app.
The developer will lead the mobile workstream for a multi-year platform modernization program for a major media and entertainment client.
The app will use Rails-rendered content through Hotwire Native with genuinely native navigation and device capabilities.
Work arrangement
- Local candidates within the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area must work in the office two days per week.
- Remote candidates across Canada must work Eastern Time hours.
Architecture and leadership
- Own native shells, path configuration, bridge components, and the boundary between web-rendered and native screens.
- Evaluate build-versus-buy options and define an incremental route-promotion strategy.
- Set standards for code quality, testing, and release readiness and mentor one to two mobile engineers.
Native capabilities
- Build offline ticket storage and presentation using local persistence, Apple Wallet, and Google Wallet.
