Job Summary
Manage the design and review of mechanical systems for residential, commercial, warehouse, and industrial building projects.
Identify design and construction constraints early and coordinate complete mechanical deliverables with consultants.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, irrigation, STP, elevator, escalator, and piping system design reviews.
- Ensure designs meet local regulations, codes, standards, and project requirements.
- Prepare, review, and approve mechanical drawings, specifications, reports, and as-built documentation.
- Coordinate mechanical documentation with electrical, ELV, architectural, and structural disciplines.
- Guide junior engineers, resolve technical issues, and liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
- Review vendor submittals, conduct safety assessments, support commissioning, and recommend design improvements.
Experience and Education
- Minimum 8 years of overall experience and 5 years of relevant experience.
- Two years of GCC experience is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical certificate.
- Experience managing mechanical design and reviews for building projects.
Knowledge and Skills
- Advanced proficiency in CAD and other technical design tools.
- Extensive knowledge of engineering principles, building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Strong communication, leadership, mentoring, and problem-solving abilities.
- ERP knowledge, preferably SAP functional skills, is listed as advantageous.
Technical Competencies
- Competencies include heat transfer, HVAC design, metals and alloys, piping and plumbing, and pneumatics.
- The role requires design management, technical coordination, quality focus, agility, resilience, and direction-setting.
