Role Overview

SS&C is hiring a Lead .NET Software Engineer for its engineering team supporting asset management and asset servicing platforms.

The role reports to senior engineering leadership and combines technical delivery, team leadership, and engineering capability development.

Workplace

  • The role is based in London and uses a hybrid work model with six office days per month.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and mentor engineers while raising team capability and supporting professional growth.
  • Set objectives, provide evaluations, support career progression, and foster an inclusive, collaborative team environment.

Technical Execution

  • Own project and product delivery against agreed timelines, quality standards, and technical requirements.
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions and lead solution design aligned with architecture and Secure SDLC principles.
  • Plan development iterations, prioritize technical work, and manage team capacity.
  • Champion Agile, version control, peer reviews, continuous integration and delivery, and test-driven development.

Technology and Innovation

  • Use C#, Angular, Microsoft Azure, and enterprise messaging systems to deliver product features.
  • Address technical debt, contribute to architecture discussions, and develop proofs of concept using emerging technologies.
  • Maintain technical documentation, operational readiness, and performance testing.

Stakeholder and Operations

  • Collaborate with Product, Architecture, Operations, and Commercial teams to deliver business goals.
  • Represent engineering in cross-functional discussions and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Join the out-of-hours on-call rota after onboarding and training and support incident investigation and resolution.

Core Qualifications

  • Extensive experience leading software development teams with a strong execution track record.
  • Deep expertise in C#, .NET Framework or .NET Core, Angular, Microsoft Azure, and enterprise messaging systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, relational database design, and high-concurrency multithreaded systems.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, scalable system design, secure development practices, and Secure SDLC principles.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience with NoSQL databases, blockchain technologies such as Ethereum, Docker, Kubernetes, SWIFT or FIX protocols, financial services, fintech, or DevOps tooling is desirable.
