  • The opportunity
  • The Lead Engineer - Infrastructure and Cloud Engineering contributes to the design, leads implementation, and provides expert support for large-scale private cloud and/or HPC infrastructure, with a focus on compute, virtualization, operating systems, orchestration, Infrastructure as Code, and platform services.
  • The role acts as a technical lead and subject matter expert for engineers responsible for compute and virtualization platforms across Coud and HPC environments.
  • Your key responsibilities
  • Co-design, implement, and manage large-scale private cloud, virtualization, and container platforms based on OpenStack, Red Hat OpenShift, and related infrastructure technologies.
  • Lead the implementation and lifecycle management of compute, virtualization, operating system, hypervisor, and orchestration services across production and non-production environments.
  • Collaborate with architecture, product, and platform engineering teams on technology evaluation, selection, integration, and solution design.
  • Support the execution of compute, virtualization, and cloud platform roadmaps, standards, and service improvements.
  • Lead capacity planning activities to ensure cloud and HPC platforms meet current and future demand.
  • Improve platform reliability by identifying failure points, strengthening high availability, and reducing operational risk.
  • Analyze and implement performance optimization strategies to improve compute efficiency, platform performance, and resource utilization.
  • Define and execute disaster recovery and resilience strategies, ensuring system integrity, availability, and recoverability across platforms.
  • Design and enhance platform observability, logging, and monitoring capabilities in collaboration with observability and operations teams.
  • Provide expert support, including on-call support, root cause analysis, complex troubleshooting, and escalation management with vendor support.
  • Lead and mentor infrastructure engineers, ensuring technical quality, execution discipline, and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with security teams to ensure compute, virtualization, and cloud platforms are secure, hardened, and compliant with cybersecurity requirements.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including implementation guides, operational procedures, diagrams, and knowledge base articles.
  • Work with process and operations teams to improve support models, operational workflows, and collaboration efficiency.
  • Participate in the hiring process by conducting technical interviews and contributing to team growth.
  • What we’re looking for
  • (a) Required skills / qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technology discipline.
  • 7+ years of experience designing, implementing, and managing private cloud, virtualization, or infrastructure platforms.
  • 2+ years of experience leading a team of 3+ engineers, with accountability for technical quality and timely delivery.
  • Strong hands-on experience with OpenStack is mandatory, including deployment and operation of production-scale environments (preferably enterprise distributions such as Red Hat OpenStack). Experience with other platforms (Apache CloudStack, Red Hat OpenShift, Nutanix or Proxmox) is considered complementary.
  • Proven experience in deploying and operating large-scale public or private cloud environments is required. Experience within a cloud service provider environment is strongly preferred.
  • Strong hands-on experience with compute technologies, including x86 hardware, Linux, KVM, ESXi, operating systems, and orchestration services.
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience with Linux environments, including 3+ years in a senior systems or infrastructure engineering role.
  • Strong understanding of hardware architecture and components, including x86/ARM, NUMA, memory channels, NICs, accelerators, firmware, and server lifecycle management.
  • Good understanding of data center networking concepts, including the OSI model, TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, load balancing, VLAN/VXLAN, and related technologies.
  • Good understanding of storage types, architectures, and protocols, including object, block, file storage, NFS/SMB, iSCSI, and Fibre Channel.
  • Good understanding of cloud-native concepts, Kubernetes, containers, and platform services.
  • Experience with identity, access management, and authorization solutions such as PKI, LDAP, OAuth, and OpenID Connect.
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Zabbix, Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK Stack.
  • Strong hands-on experience with deployment, upgrade, and Day 2 operations automation for large-scale cloud platforms using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), GitOps, and CI/CD methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools and frameworks such as Ansible, Terraform, ArgoCD, or similar technologies.
  • Strong scripting or programming skills using Python, Go, Bash, or similar languages.
  • Experience with ITSM tools such as Jira, Redmine, or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of GPU hardware, AI accelerators, and HPC infrastructure is an advantage.
  • Relevant certifications in Linux, virtualization, cloud computing, OpenStack, VMware, Kubernetes, or OpenShift are advantageous.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
