Role Overview
Lead embedded firmware architecture and development for next-generation residential gateways using prplOS across multiple SoCs.
Serve as the technical authority for embedded firmware and wireless systems, with responsibility for scalability, stability, and optimization.
Responsibilities
- Lead architecture for hardware-agnostic gateway firmware and mentor engineering teams.
- Build Python-based automated and unit-testing frameworks for firmware and system validation.
- Use perf, Valgrind, and kernel utilities to diagnose memory, CPU, and concurrency issues.
- Develop C and C++ firmware and optimize Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 capabilities.
- Maintain prpl API abstractions, IPC services, network stacks, device models, and containerized microservices.
- Manage Git branching and firmware release pipelines.
Must-Have Requirements
- 10+ years of hands-on embedded firmware experience in telecom, networking, or residential gateways.
- High proficiency in C and modern C++ for resource-constrained embedded systems.
- Embedded Linux experience with OpenWrt or prplOS.
- Production expertise with TR-181 and USP/TR-369.
- Experience with Docker, prpl LCM, Linux wireless drivers, hostapd, wpa_supplicant, and iw.
