About the Role
UrbaCon Contracting seeks a Lead Electrical Technical Engineer to manage electrical design for residential, commercial, and industrial projects in Qatar. Responsibilities
- Lead the design and review of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, earthing, and low voltage systems.
- Ensure all electrical designs meet local regulations, industry codes, and project requirements.
- Prepare, review, and approve electrical schematics, specifications, reports, and As Built drawings.
- Work with other engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
- Provide guidance to the electrical engineering team, mentoring junior engineers.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
- Review and approve vendor technical submittals.
- Conduct safety assessments and implement risk mitigation measures.
- Support testing, commissioning, and performance evaluation of electrical systems.
- Contribute to identifying scope of work for bidders and contract review.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in any Engineering related discipline (e.g. Mechanical, Electrical) or any Related Technical Certificates
- Minimum 8 year(s) working experience, 5 year(s) relevant working experience, 2 year (s) GCC is a plus
- Advanced proficiency in CAD software and other design tools
- Extensive knowledge of architectural and engineering principles
- Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and industry standards
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills

Job Responsibilities

- Stay updated with industry trends, recommend design process improvements, and focus on efficiency and sustainability.
- Contributes in identifying the SOW for the bidders.
- Participates in the writing of the project Special Conditions for inclusion in all subcontracts.
Job Knowledge & Skills
- Advanced proficiency in CAD software and other design tools for drafting and creating technical drawings.
- Extensive knowledge of architectural and engineering principles to effectively coordinate technical aspects of projects.
- Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and industry standards to ensure compliance and quality assurance.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
- Problem solving abilities to anticipate and address technical issues.
- ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.
Job Experience
- Minimum 8 year(s) working experience, 5 year(s) relevant working experience, 2 year (s) GCC is a plus.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in any Engineering related discipline (e.g. Mechanical, Electrical) or any Related Technical Certificates.
- Master's degree in Technical/Any vocational training courses.
