As we expand, we're looking for highly skilled engineers who can elevate our technical capabilities while mentoring and enabling others across the organization.

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Lead Electrical and Electrical Safety Engineer to join our Leveraged Engineering team to support our global plant sites across lines of businesses.

The Lead Electrical Engineer will provide consulting services in support of electrical safety programs and design, startup, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment as needed throughout Qnity Electronics.

This includes technical support to plant operations as well as for capital projects.

The Lead Electrical Engineer will network with Qnity resources and cross-functional teams to achieve timely solutions to business problems.

The successful candidate will have a strong electrical engineering and electrical safety background and the ability to use these fundamental skills to specify equipment per regulatory compliance and solve problems related to equipment performance and reliability for a full spectrum of devices in multiple voltage classes from 480V up through 35 kV.

Typical areas of technology include: lightning arrestors, switchgear, distribution transformers, protective relays, breakers, switches, fuses, cables, M otor C ontrol C enters, motors, A djustable S peed D rives and electrical safety.

The successful candidate should have a working knowledge of all aspects of electrical design including but not limited to:

15 or more years of experience in the Chemical Process or related industries with the working knowledge of electrical equipment and electrical safety programs
Demonstrated ability to be proactive, self-motivated, and able to function independent of supervision
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills – must be able to communicate with management, constituency, vendors, etc., in a manner that is productive and sharing rather than condescending or judgmental
Excellent time management skills and the ability to plan, prioritize, and implement multiple concurrent projects or activities
Knowledge of related plant operational practices such as Process Safety Management and MIQA
Statistical Engineering – Six Sigma analysis
Intimate knowledge in applying electrical Codes, Standards, & Regulations (NEC, NFPA, UL, FM, NETA, etc.)
Fault Analysis skills
Advanced working knowledge of short circuit, coordination & arc-flash studies; specifically, SKM Power Tools Software
Medium-Voltage cable expertise including cable splicing & terminating
Ability to evaluate (and maintain) through testing existing electrical equipment to improve reliability and/or accuracy
Ability to plan and direct E&I personnel during startup of manufacturing facilities; coordinate E&I field activities to troubleshoot and correct.
