Lead Construction Engineer (Offshore Platform)

Role Overview

Construction Execution

• Plan and execute heavy lifting operations for major offshore equipment and packages.
• Review lifting studies, rigging plans, crane load charts, deck-loading checks, and engineered lifting procedures.
• Oversee mechanical installation, piping fabrication, welding, NDT, hydrotesting, reinstatement, and handover.
• Coordinate electrical installation, cable work, earthing, testing, instrumentation installation, calibration, and loop checks.
• Synchronize mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation work sequences to prevent rework and schedule conflicts.
• Develop execution plans, work fronts, manning plans, heavy-lift schedules, and progress strategies.

Planning and Commissioning

• Support WBS execution sequences, shutdown logic, SIMOPS integration, and mechanical completion milestones.
• Monitor productivity, progress KPIs, delays, constraints, and material shortages.
• Coordinate readiness for pre-commissioning and commissioning, including equipment tests, energization, loop checks, and cause-effect validation.
• Ensure systems reach Mechanical Completion, Ready-for-Commissioning, and Ready-for-Start-Up milestones.
• Interface with OEMs, vendors, commissioning teams, and project stakeholders on installation, testing, and technical issues.

Quality, Documentation, and Interfaces

• Oversee QA/QC activities including welding and NDT acceptance, bolt torquing, alignment, electrical tests, calibration, and reinstatement checks.
• Manage punch lists, construction documentation, test packs, redlines, as-builts, work packs, method statements, ITPs, and dossiers.
• Manage interface registers, change requests, technical deviations, field change notices, and engineering clarifications.
• Coordinate with ADNOC Operations on shutdowns, isolations, LOTO, live-system interactions, and SIMOPS controls.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 15 years of Oil & Gas EPC experience.
• Offshore construction experience is mandatory.
• Proven ADNOC offshore brownfield project experience.
• Experience with live-facility modifications, SIMOPS, shutdown execution, and multidisciplinary construction management.
• Strong knowledge of offshore construction methodologies and ADNOC Offshore construction and HSE standards.
• ADNOC PTW, LOTO, confined-space, and working-at-height requirements.

Technical and Leadership Skills

• Heavy lifting, marine spread coordination, mechanical installation, piping, electrical, and instrumentation execution.
• Strong leadership, team management, interface management, communication, organization, and decision-making skills.
• Knowledge of Primavera or MS Project; basic SAP or Maximo knowledge is advantageous.

Offshore Work Environment

• The role is centered on offshore platform execution and requires coordination with marine operations, site authorities, logistics, and offshore crews.
• The role requires work under schedule pressure in offshore environments and continuous adherence to safety protocols.
