Role Overview

Lead commissioning work for the DCS Controls Services portfolio, covering installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware and software.

Provide field engineering updates to clients, plant or utility owners, and construction firms on job progress.

Review plant engineering documents and P&IDs, and plan, organize, integrate, and direct labor, tools, and materials to meet contractual work scopes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on-site controls and instrumentation activities for installation, commissioning, maintenance, and upgrade projects.
  • Oversee DCS systems including Mark VIe, Cimplicity, HMI, and network switches.
  • Provide technical direction for OEM packaged products and troubleshoot PLC logic, plant systems, and DCS hardware and software.
  • Modify DCS control constants, software sequencing, and balance-of-plant, gas turbine, and steam turbine control hardware and software.
  • Prepare field service jobs, coordinate with project and service managers, and provide customer training.
  • Supervise cable laying, insulation resistance testing, and cable connections.
  • Maintain timesheets, obtain customer signatures, prepare field service reports, and submit hours and expenses accurately.
  • Provide reports, attend customer technical meetings, meet contractual obligations, and follow EHS procedures.
  • Provide expert consultation on complex projects and support customer satisfaction and business growth.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electronic or electrical engineering, or a Diploma in Engineering.
  • At least 10 years of experience with GEV DCS Controls systems such as Mark VIe.
  • At least 10 years of field activities experience in the oil and gas and power plant industries.
  • Strong knowledge of rotating equipment, synchronous machine, UCP, MCC, DCP, DCS, and firefighting system controls.
  • Strong knowledge of field devices, instruments, actuators, and industrial test equipment.
  • Ability to interpret and implement wiring diagrams, P&IDs, general arrangements, and other technical drawings.
  • Valid driver’s license and passport, or ability to obtain a passport.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills and fluent English.

Desired Characteristics

  • Knowledge of EX2100e is an advantage.
  • Experience with successful installations and outages is desirable.
  • Familiarity with instruments, controls, PLCs, computer networks, and switches is desirable.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are desirable.
  • Willingness to travel worldwide and work overtime is desirable.

Travel and Work Conditions

  • The role requires frequent travel of more than 75%, including offshore and restricted-country assignments.
  • The role may require work on holidays, weekends, and overtime according to field assignments.
