About the Role
UrbaCon Contracting seeks a Lead Commissioning Engineer to plan and direct testing and commissioning of fire and life safety systems in Doha. Requires 7+ years of experience in fire and life safety systems commissioning, UPDA registration, QCDD certification, and knowledge of NFPA standards.

- Plan and control testing and commissioning work of assigned projects and jobs in process as per the terms of agreement and contract
- Ensure that all requirements concerning testing and commissioning aspects of fire and life safety systems are fully covered and implemented
- Develop and implement comprehensive work plans and procedures
- Ensure strict compliance with quality, health and safety, and environmental management systems
- Keep logs and report on daily activities to comply with local authorities
- Develop and follow testing and commissioning procedures and ensure implementation through the Commissioning team to comply with local QCDD regulations and international codes and standards
- Review shop drawings and confirm that nothing is missing as per specifications
- Coordinate with technical/engineering team at the main office
- Provide complete solution, System Design, and Configuration to the Customer/Client
- Coordinate continuously with the commissioning manager and take required measures to complete maintenance and other required services
Requirements
- 7+ years’ experience in fire and life safety systems in a commissioning environment
- UPDA (engineering registration certificate)
- QCDD (certified fire engineer)
- Knowledge of NFPA 72, NFPA 101
- Fire systems manufacture certification (Carrier Fire System, EST3, EST4, Xtralis, AP sensing)
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years’ GCC experience (preferred)

Job Summary
- Responsible for planning and directing all Engineering, Technical Support, Testing & Commissioning, Inspection, and Handing over in coordination with the Commissioning Manager and as per company Quality and Customer Care standards of fire and life safety systems.
Job Responsibilities 1
- Responsible for planning and controlling testing and commissioning work of assigned projects and jobs in process as per the terms of agreement and contract.
- Ensure that all the requirements concerning testing and commissioning aspects of fire and life safety systems of the projects are fully covered and implemented as per the project requirements.
- Work closely with the FA management team to set and/or implement policies, procedures, and systems and to follow through with implementation.
- Developing and implementing comprehensive work plans and procedures.
- Ensure strict compliance with quality, health and safety, and environmental management systems.
- Keep logs and report on daily activities to comply with local authorities.
- Develop and follow testing and commissioning procedures and ensure implementation of those procedures through the Commissioning team to comply with local QCDD regulations and international codes and standards.
Job Responsibilities 2
- Ensure work complies with codes, NFPA standards, Regulations & permits.
- Ensure strict compliance with quality, health and safety and environmental management system
- Review the shop drawings and confirm that nothing is missing as per specifications mentioned in the agreement/contracts and other project documents.
- Engineering at the main office and co ordinate with technical/engineering team at the main office.
- Maintain local authority specifications/standards and requirements.
- Project coordination as necessary, especially the mimic panels, smoke panels, any kind of calculations, schematic diagram, shop drawing, C &E Matrix etc.
- Provide complete solution, System Design, and Configuration to the Customer/ Client
- Coordinate continuously with the commissioning manager and wherever necessary take required measures to complete maintenance and other required services.
- Active involvement in data gathering for engineering/automation reports and root cause analysis
Job Knowledge & Skills
- UPDA (engineering registration certificate).
- QCDD (certified fire engineer).
- NFPA 72, NFPA 101.
- Fire systems manufacture certification (Carrier Fire System, EST3, EST4, Xtralis, AP sensing).
- Project software like Auto cad, and Primavera and advanced level of computer office skills.
Job Experience
- 7+ years’ experience in fire and life safety systems in a commissioning environment.
- 5+ years’ GCC experience (preferred)
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
