Ld Director - Software Engineering

Position Summary

Responsibilities

• Drive technical strategy across an organization of approximately 50 to 150 or more engineers.
• Set architectural standards and engineering excellence benchmarks.
• Embed LLMs, generative AI, agentic workflows, and machine learning automation into engineering delivery.
• Own delivery outcomes and maintain execution velocity.
• Partner with product, data, and healthcare business leaders on engineering investments.
• Challenge architectural debt and infeasible timelines while advocating for appropriate investment.

Required Qualifications

• At least 10 years of progressive software engineering experience, including 5 or more years leading large-scale engineering organizations.
• Experience building and scaling systems serving tens of thousands of users.
• Hands-on expertise in distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, and modern backend engineering at scale.
• Production AI platform ownership covering deployment pipelines, vector databases, RAG, LLM orchestration, inference optimization, and responsible AI.
• Experience migrating monoliths to microservices and modernizing legacy platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

• Healthcare or highly regulated domain experience, including HIPAA, CMS compliance, or PHI data handling.
• Platform engineering ownership involving internal developer platforms and engineering productivity tooling.

Pay Range

• The stated pay range is $144,200 to $288,400.
• The role may also be eligible for a bonus, commission or short-term incentive program, and an equity award target.
