Role Summary
The Landscape Engineer is responsible for safeguarding and delivering the approved landscape design intent during construction. As part of the Construction Supervision Consultant team, the role ensures that all landscape works—including hardscape, softscape, and irrigation—are executed in full compliance with approved drawings, specifications, materials, and design intent, while meeting safety, quality, sustainability, and durability standards. The position bridges landscape design and site execution to ensure faithful realization of the approved landscape vision, with a strong emphasis on architectural integration and detailing.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all landscape works comply with approved landscape design packages, specifications, drawings, and design intent.
- Interpret landscape and architectural designs into clear, buildable, and inspectable site requirements.
- Conduct site inspections of landscape works including hardscape, softscape, irrigation systems, water features, street furniture, and associated landscape elements.
- Review landscape and architectural materials, samples, mock-ups, shop drawings, and method statements to ensure compliance with approved aesthetics, durability, constructability, and project standards.
- Monitor consistency between approved samples and installed works, identify non-compliance, and coordinate corrective actions with contractors.
- Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, irrigation engineers, contractors, and specialist landscape subcontractors to resolve technical issues without compromising design and architectural intent.
- Participate in QA/QC processes, issuing site instructions, observation reports, and NCRs as required, while maintaining accurate inspection and reporting records.
- Ensure landscape works comply with applicable building codes, environmental requirements, safety regulations, and local authority standards.
- Support testing, commissioning, snagging, handover, and defect liability inspections related to landscape and irrigation works.
Qualifications & Experience
- **Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (mandatory)**

- A Master’s degree in Architecture, Urban Design, or Landscape Architecture is preferred.
- Minimum
- 10–15 years’ experience
- in landscape and architectural construction supervision and project delivery.
- Proven experience on large-scale developments, such as public realm projects, mixed-use developments, resorts, theme parks, or master-planned communities.
- Strong knowledge of hardscape and softscape construction techniques, irrigation systems, landscape materials, architectural detailing, finishes, and installation methodologies.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong architectural eye for detail, proportions, materials, finishes, and planting quality.
- Ability to translate landscape and architectural design concepts into effective site execution.
- Excellent coordination, communication, and technical reporting skills.
- Confident and professional site presence with the ability to work under tight schedules and high-quality expectations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple interfaces on site.
Reporting Line
Reports to the Resident Engineer / Senior Landscape Architect / Design Manager and works closely with the Landscape Design Team, Architectural Design Team, Project Management Team, and Construction Contractors.
