Responsibilities
- Conduct routine and specialized tests on construction materials including soil, concrete, cement, aggregates, and asphalt
- Carry out field and laboratory testing as per relevant standards (ASTM, BS, AASHTO, or project specifications)
- Prepare samples and perform testing such as sieve analysis, Proctor compaction test, Atterberg limits, slump test, compressive strength test for concrete, asphalt density, and bitumen tests
- Record, analyze, and report test results accurately
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure calibration is up to date
- Ensure proper sample collection, labeling, and storage
- Assist QA/QC Engineers in quality control documentation
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized lab environment
- Support site inspection teams when required
Requirements
- Experience in conducting routine and specialized tests on construction materials including soil, concrete, cement, aggregates, and asphalt
- Knowledge of relevant testing standards (ASTM, BS, AASHTO, or project specifications)
- Ability to prepare samples and perform tests such as sieve analysis, Proctor compaction, Atterberg limits, slump test, compressive strength, asphalt density, and bitumen tests
- Ability to record, analyze, and report test results accurately
- Ability to maintain laboratory equipment and ensure calibration is up to date
- Ability to ensure proper sample collection, labeling, and storage
- Knowledge of safety procedures and maintaining a clean lab environment
