L1 Technician

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am-5:00pm; includes occasional Saturday's

Pay range: $64,000 - $66,000 annually

The position ensures that all Massachusetts Inspection Program requirements related to Motorist Assistance Centers (MAC) performance, training and customer service are adhered to.

This position is responsible for providing assistance to the Motorists, Inspection Stations, Inspectors, Registered Repair Technicians and Registered Repair Stations.

The position also responds to QA test interruptions and hotline calls of a technical nature.

• Assures that the MACs are properly maintained.
• Provide training for inspectors.
• Ensures performance of covert vehicles, including the set up and testing failures of covert audit vehicles.
• Evaluates waiver requests and hardship extension requests.
• Evaluate kit cars.
• Evaluate vehicles referred to the MAC (readiness, targeted, etc.).
• Visually inspect vehicles presented for repair waivers to determine whether the repair work has been done.
