Junior Front-End Developer (Remote)

Position Overview

Front-End Development

• Build and update responsive web pages and user interfaces.
• Write clean HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and convert approved designs into functional pages.
• Modify existing components and layouts and assist with reusable front-end components.
• Follow coding standards, ensure cross-screen-size display, and participate in code reviews.

Maintenance, Testing, and Debugging

• Update website content, layouts, links, forms, and interface elements.
• Test changes across supported browsers and devices before deployment.
• Identify broken links, usability issues, and basic front-end problems.
• Use browser developer tools, document bugs and changes, verify fixes, and escalate complex issues.

Workflow and Collaboration

• Use Git or similar tools, maintain organized project files, and follow development workflows.
• Track tasks and deadlines, update project-management systems, and review technical documentation.
• Collaborate with developers, designers, coordinators, and other team members.
• Communicate progress and blockers, receive feedback, and participate in remote meetings and training.

Required Qualifications

• Basic HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript knowledge is required.
• Understanding of responsive web design, website structure, and user interfaces is required.
• Familiarity with common browsers and developer tools is required.
• Attention to detail, problem-solving ability, communication, and willingness to learn are required.
• Candidates must be able to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
• A reliable internet connection and suitable remote workspace are required.
• A college degree is not necessarily required when foundational skills can be demonstrated.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with React, Vue, Angular, or another front-end framework is helpful but not required.
• Familiarity with GitHub, Flexbox and Grid, styling frameworks, REST APIs, JSON, npm, TypeScript, Figma, accessibility, SEO, command-line tools, or Agile workflows is helpful.
• Personal websites, GitHub projects, coursework, bootcamp projects, internships, freelance projects, or other development examples are welcome.
