Junior Fabric Technologist

Support product development trials and implementation of new testing methods and processes.

Prepare samples for external laboratories and monitor testing progress.

Assist with investigations into fabric performance, manufacturing and quality issues.

Prepare laboratory solutions and ensure testing equipment is calibrated and maintained.

Maintain organised sample storage and development areas.

Liaise with suppliers, external laboratories and internal departments to obtain technical information and certifications.

Support continuous improvement activities and remain aware of developments in textile materials, testing and sustainability.

Comply with company Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental procedures.

Measures of success

Testing completed accurately and within agreed timescales.

Effective support of new material trials, with results communicated clearly and on time.

Accurate and up-to-date documentation of all trials, tests, and developments.

Samples, archives and documentation remain organised and fully traceable.

Laboratory equipment maintained and calibrated.

Positive feedback from internal departments regarding communication, reliability and technical support.

Qualification

GCSE (or equivalent) in Math, English and Science.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

. Essential

1 year+ Experience in textiles

Basic understanding of quality assurance, testing procedures, and supplier processes

Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.

Ability to prioritise work and maintain accurate technical records.

Enthusiastic with a willingness to learn and develop.
