Role overview
The Jr. Sous Chef is responsible for the smooth operation of the main or outlet kitchen, with emphasis on quality, presentation, standardized menus, and employee training.
Day-to-day responsibilities
- Supervise kitchen preparation and presentation in accordance with hotel SOPs and standardized menu guidelines.
- Monitor production standards to ensure a high level of quality.
- Monitor aspects of the hotel's food cost control.
- Participate in concept and menu development for special events and functions.
- Encourage culinary colleagues to contribute ideas and use practical suggestions.
- Implement HACCP and Municipality hygiene standards at all times.
- Provide consistent on-the-job training for culinary colleagues.
- Promote health and safety in the kitchen.
