Key Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship is REQUIRED – No exceptions.
  • This is an on-site position 5 days per week at Picatinny Arsenal, Dover, NJ. Remote work is not permitted.
  • Candidates must be local or willing to relocate at their own expense (limited relocation assistance may be available for highly qualified candidates).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if required.

Jr. Mechanical Engineer Professional Duties

  • Technical Design & Review: Review engineering drawings and design equipment, structures, or systems using established criteria and military specifications.
  • Testing & Evaluation: Conduct laboratory and field testing of materials, equipment, and systems to ensure compliance with operational requirements and safety standards.
  • Compliance Oversight: Review technical aspects of designs, applications, and proposed plans for adherence to laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Technical Documentation: Maintain accurate program records and prepare information papers, technical reports, and briefings for project stakeholders.
  • Project Coordination: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and various installation offices to resolve operating problems and align on work efforts.
  • Guidance Adaptation: Research, interpret, and adapt available engineering precedents to address specific technical gaps or issues.

Required Background

Education: Professional knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, concepts, and methodology (typically a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering).

Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with conventional methods and techniques needed to plan or monitor engineering projects.

Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex subject matter and select the best course of action from multiple technical alternatives.

Interpersonal Skills: Ability to coordinate with diverse groups to resolve technical problems and influence project outcomes.

Safety Awareness: Proficiency in laboratory environments requiring normal safety precautions and the ability to handle sedentary office-based tasks. Why Join WisEngineering?
