Citylitics is hiring a Junior Data Engineer to help build and maintain mission-critical data products.
The role focuses on production data pipelines, data modeling, and data warehouses that support customer-facing solutions.

Compensation
- The stated salary range is CAD 70,000–80,000.

- The role requires at least 3 days in the office per week.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, deploy, monitor, and maintain reliable data pipelines using Airflow and BigQuery.
- Collaborate on data requirements and design efficient data models within BigQuery.
- Optimize queries, pipelines, and dashboard performance.
- Support Custom Solutions by taking bespoke client requests from proof of concept through production.
- Translate client requirements into technical solutions and communicate project progress to stakeholders.
- Improve data infrastructure and processes through new technologies and best practices.
- Use AI tools to support development, debugging, design, and documentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Python and SQL.
- At least 2 years of experience building and maintaining data pipelines using Airflow or Cloud Composer.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing and experience with BigQuery.
- Understanding of ETL/ELT, data modeling, and idempotent, reliable pipelines.
- Experience with Git and cloud platforms; GCP is preferred.
- Experience with interactive dashboards or data applications is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Comfort using AI tools such as Claude in daily work.
