Who are we

As a member of the Surveillance System Engineering Team; the Surveillance Engineering Student will be involved in new and ongoing development and engineering support of Air Traffic Control surveillance systems.

You will have a diverse set of responsibilities which can include develop/enhance software, data analysis, system and software testing.

In this work term, the primary task for the student will be the ability to work individually and within a modified Agile Team on developing and refactoring our surveillance maintenance and toolchain software.

Responsibilities

  • Software development (C/C++/Python/JavaScript) and testing
  • System Hardware installation, setup and testing
  • Create test plans, procedures and scripts
  • Support life cycle support activities of current systems and lab environments

  • Good understanding of Networking
  • Good oral and written communications in English
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Programs and Level

Graduate student working towards a degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or similar technical discipline.

COOP Eligibility to your school Program: 4 months

Winter 2027 – January to April 2027

Work Location and Conditions

  • This is a hybrid role with onsite work minimum of 3 days a week at the Ottawa Technical System Centre (TSC) – 280 Hunt Club Road
