The Joinery Draftsman (Shop Drawing Engineer) is responsible for producing detailed, fabrication-ready joinery shop drawings, millwork details, and as-built documentation for custom joinery and fit-out projects.
This role translates architectural and interior design intent into precise workshop and site drawing packages.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed joinery shop drawings from architectural/interior design drawings including plan views, elevations, sections, and assembly details for cabinetry, wardrobes, wall panels, counters, reception desks, and decorative millwork.
- Produce fabrication drawings for workshop production with all required dimensions, material specifications, hardware schedules, and finish notes.
- Prepare joinery layout drawings showing installation positions, fixings, and interfaces with adjacent construction elements.
- Coordinate joinery drawings with architectural, MEP, and structural drawings to produce clash-free integrated packages.
- Update drawings based on RFI responses, client comments, and site variations.
- Produce hardware and material schedules from drawing sets for procurement and workshop use.
- Prepare and maintain as-built joinery drawings for project handover records.
- Manage drawing registers, revision history, and transmittal logs.
- Liaise with site and workshop teams to resolve drawing queries and production issues.
