- Understand current data architecture and data models to design and implement FHIR compliant APIs
- Implement and expand government entity API endpoints
- Design, implement, and deploy FHIR based API solutions
- Handle data translation of FHIR messages using FHIR R4 version
- Create database queries and procedures as needed
- Evaluate code for validity, structure, and industry standards
- Develop or validate test routines and schedules to mimic external interfaces
- Document test plans, testing procedures, or test results
- Recommend and implement performance improvements
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- 5 to 7 years of experience in API design and development
- Two or more years of experience in FHIR API design and development
- Experience with HL7 FHIR standard
- Experience with REST API platform design, development, and deployment
- Experience with security frameworks like JWT and OAuth2
- Proficient in Web APIs / HTTP / REST / JSON
- Proficient in SQL and Stored Procedures using MS SQL Server
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Experience in healthcare industry is preferred
- Experience with APIGEE is a plus
- Experience with Microsoft FHIR server is a plus

Role Summary
- Understand the current data architecture and data models to design and implement FHIR compliant APIs.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for implementing and expanding Government entity API endpoints.
- Responsible to design, implement and deploy FHIR based API solutions.
- Handle data translation of FHIR messages using FHIR R4 version.
- Gain an understanding of current data architecture and data models to design and implement API interfaces.
- Create database queries and procedures as needed.
- Evaluate code to ensure that it is valid, is properly structured, meets industry standards.
- Develop or validate test routines and schedules to ensure that test cases mimic external interfaces.
- Document test plans, testing procedures, or test results.
- Recommend and implement performance improvements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Experience in healthcare industry is a preferred.
- 5 to 7 years’ experience in API design and development.
- Two or more years of experience in FHIR API design and development.
- Experience with HL7 Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) standard.
- Experience with design, development, deployment of REST API platform.
- Experience with Security frameworks like JWT and OATH2.
- Experience in API layers like security, custom analytics, throttling, caching, logging, monetization, request and response modifications etc.
- Experience with APIGEE is a plus.
- Experience with Microsoft FHIR server is a plus.
- Proficient in Web APIs / HTTP / REST / JSON.
- Proficient in SQL and Stored Procedures using MS SQL Server.
