Role overview
Support the Resident Engineer on AI, ML, NLP, generative AI, and decision-support applications within an Advanced Traffic Management System.
Oversee intelligent traffic-management functions including prediction, incident detection, forecasting, operator assistance, chatbots, knowledge management, and business intelligence.
Review designs, algorithms, data architectures, training methods, model validation, cybersecurity, and integration with ATMS and other ITS systems.
AI and ITS responsibilities
- Provide technical supervision of AI, ML, NLP, LLM, predictive analytics, and decision-support development and deployment.
- Review AI architectures, data models, governance plans, development methodologies, integration designs, and technical submittals.
- Monitor AI-enabled traffic-management applications and coordinate integration with ATMS, field devices, databases, video analytics, C-ITS, enterprise systems, and external data.
- Review datasets, model metrics, accuracy, bias assessments, corrective actions, retraining plans, and deployment roadmaps.
- Witness demonstrations, prototypes, proof-of-concept activities, validation exercises, and operational-readiness testing.
