- Perform systems analysis work in all aspects of application lifecycle, from design through to decommissioning

- Facilitate implementation of new solutions or enhancements to existing applications
- Support and influence continuous improvement practices for efficient and effective service delivery and identify any areas needing attention
Requirements
- A degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline with at least 4 years of related experience; OR a completed 2 year technology diploma with at least 8 years of related experience
- Experience with data governance and data management frameworks, including DAMA and COBIT
- Experience in using or implementing a data catalog tool
- Strong understanding of data quality, metadata management, master data management, and data stewardship concepts
- Experience working with cross functional business and technical partners
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and partner management skills
- Knowledge of The City of Calgary's standards, processes, and procedures as well as project management experience would be considered assets
- A security clearance will be conducted

Overview
- The Information Technology (IT) Senior Systems Analyst will provide business analysis, systems analysis, project coordination, and technical leadership for enterprise technology initiatives.
- This role works closely with business partners, technology teams, vendors, project resources, governance or oversight groups, and subject matter experts to define requirements, assess solution options, support implementation, and ensure technology and information management solutions meet business n
Primary duties include:
- Serve as a liaison between the business units and the IT organization to provide technical solutions to meet user needs.
- Perform systems analysis work in all aspects of application lifecycle, from design through to decommissioning.
- Ensure projects follow The City's best practices, methodologies, and guidelines.
- Facilitate implementation of new solutions or enhancements to existing applications.
- Support and influence continuous improvement practices for efficient and effective service delivery and identify any areas needing attention.
Qualifications
- A degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline with at least 4 years of related experience; OR a completed 2 year technology diploma with at least 8 years of related experience is required.
- Experience with data governance and data management frameworks, including Data Management Association (DAMA) and Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology (COBIT) is required.
- Experience in using or implementing a data catalog tool is required.
- Strong understanding of data quality, metadata management, master data management, and data stewardship concepts.
- Experience working with cross functional business and technical partners.
- Knowledge of The City of Calgary's standards, processes, and procedures as well as project management experience would be considered assets.

- Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week.
- Days of work: This position works a 5 day work week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
