Role Purpose

The IT Business Solutions Senior Specialist is responsible for leading the development team in designing, developing, and delivering enterprise applications and digital solutions that support SGS’s business operations and digital transformation objectives.

The role ensures the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and secure solutions while driving technical best practices, system integration, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The position also provides technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the development team, while coordinating with business stakeholders and project teams to ensure solutions are aligned with business needs, project objectives, and technology standards.

Role and Responsibilities:

1.

Lead and oversee the design, development, and implementation of enterprise applications and digital solutions.

2.

Manage and support the development team by assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and ensuring timely delivery of projects.

3.

Guide the team in backend, frontend, API, and integration development activities across multiple systems and projects.

4.

Ensure development activities comply with coding standards, architecture guidelines, security policies, and best practices.

5.

Review source code, technical solutions, and deliverables to ensure quality, scalability, performance, and maintainability.

6.

Act as the primary technical escalation point for complex application, integration, and production issues.

7.

Coordinate with business stakeholders, vendors, and project teams to align on requirements, priorities, timelines, and deliverables.

8.

Participate in project planning, effort estimation, technical design, and solution feasibility assessments.

9.

Ensure projects and development activities are delivered within agreed scope, timelines.

10.

Support and oversee integrations between internal and external systems to ensure reliable interoperability and data exchange.

11.

Drive the adoption of modern technologies, development tools, and Azure solutions where applicable.

12.

Ensure proper management of source control, CI/CD pipelines, deployments, and release management processes.

13.

Monitor application performance and guide optimization, troubleshooting, and refactoring activities to improve stability and scalability.

14.

Maintain technical documentation, system knowledge, and development standards across assigned solutions.

15.

Mentor and coach developers through technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and continuous feedback to improve team capability and performance.

16.

Stay up to date with emerging technologies and recommend improvements that support SGS’s technology roadmap and digital initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 6–8 years of experience in software development, application support, and system integration.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience leading or mentoring development teams and managing technical delivery activities.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure services, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
  • Experience working with version control system.
  • Project management certifications such as PMP or PMI-ACP are a plus.
