Overview

This finance firm is seeking an experienced professional to support mergers and acquisitions activities within the energy sector.

The role involves conducting comprehensive due diligence analysis, coordinating with stakeholders, and supporting strategic decision-making processes for potential M&A transactions.

This position offers the opportunity to work on complex energy sector deals while developing expertise in corporate development and strategic analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and analyze relevant information on target companies in accordance with corporate M&A strategy and guidelines
  • Coordinate meetings between the firm and potential target companies to facilitate information exchange
  • Gather and evaluate key indicators of M&A potential including growth metrics, competitive positioning, market share, financial statements, and organizational structure
  • Perform complex financial and strategic analyses to extract insights supporting management decision-making
  • Attend meetings with target company representatives to address issues and clarify information requirements
  • Prepare comprehensive reports for senior management ensuring accuracy and relevance for target audiences
  • Develop materials for meetings and presentations with timely and accurate information delivery
  • Organize and coordinate meetings and presentations, managing schedules and logistics for internal and external participants
  • Support M&A project management to ensure timely delivery within budget and according to agreed objectives
  • Coordinate with external consultants to ensure proper delivery and adherence to timelines
  • Prepare regular project status reports for management review
  • Support sourcing of external resources and advisors as required for due diligence processes
  • Review and analyze due diligence materials to build comprehensive business cases

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Engineering, Law, or equivalent field
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in M&A, corporate development, or related finance roles
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with ability to perform complex financial analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Experience in due diligence processes and project management
  • Strong stakeholder management and coordination capabilities
