About ICBA

ICBA is an international non-profit agricultural research center established in 1999.

Internship Overview

The Project Officer Intern will work under ICBA's Directorate of Programs.

The internship supports program and project leaders with project management tasks.

The assignment is stated as five months in the summary and four months in the duration field.

Project Planning and Execution

  • Contribute to preparation of the succeeding year's annual workplan and budget.
  • Support day-to-day project operations with scientists, project partners, and project leads.
  • Support management of project staff, consultants, and contractors and assist with reviewing job contributions.
  • Initiate and follow up on procurement of project goods and services.
  • Schedule and organize project meetings.
  • Contribute to technical and financial reports, prepare budget forecasts, and initiate partner payments under project agreements.
  • Coordinate with communications teams to create project awareness and update the project knowledge base.

Project Monitoring

  • Measure project progress and performance against baselines and expected results.
  • Monitor milestones and ensure timely submission of deliverables.
  • Identify variances requiring corrective action and request changes when appropriate.
  • Ensure project scope changes are approved and documented.
  • Compile and document project-related materials.
  • Perform other tasks requested by the Director of Programs and program leaders.

Qualifications and Experience

  • University degree or equivalent in a related subject such as agriculture, environmental sciences, public administration, social sciences, or international relations.
  • Proficiency in the use of computers and related programs.
  • Project management experience is preferred.
  • Project management training or coursework is an added advantage.

Stipend

  • The internship provides a stipend of AED 3,000 per month.
