About the Role
As a backend engineer intern, you will help design, build, and scale backend services for Capital One Canada.
You will write backend code for production systems, build new API features, and automate tests.
You will gain hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, ETL processes, and modern deployment practices.
You will collaborate with other engineers, product managers, and architects to deliver features.
Senior team members will provide technical guidance and mentorship.
Your Responsibilities
- Write backend code to meet story acceptance criteria.
- Build and maintain high-volume APIs and ETL data pipelines.
- Write automated tests and integrate them into deployment pipelines.
- Participate in code reviews, design sessions, and Agile ceremonies.
- Collaborate with product and engineering stakeholders to implement new system features.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher expected by December 2026.
