Instrument/Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities AND Accountabilities

• Design/specify, procure and support installation of all instrumentation and electrical equipment and systems including components that are both analog and discrete, electronic and pneumatic, hydraulic or mechanical.
• Creating/updating documentation (computerized databases, overseeing CAD drawing activities).
• Control and safety-relief valves -- design requirements and maintenance assistance.
• Power distribution (< 69KV), switching, grounding and usage (including VFD and motors).
• Interface and communicate non-routine activities between operations and I/E technicians.

Education/Experience

Skills/Competencies

• The successful candidate should have a minimum of a BS degree in Electrical Engineering and 5 to 7 years of related experience in power electrical and process instrumentation and control. Experience with the technical design and support of petro-chemical or batch operations is required. Basic knowledge of distributed control systems and programmable logic controllers is required. Candidate must be able to support daily operations and perform short-term projects . The preferred candidate will have held a similar position that interfaced with operators, technicians, staff engineers, engineering contractors, vendor field engineers and sales representatives.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills are essential to perform and communicate the day-to-day support, troubleshooting conclusions and status of projects.
