About the Department
Reporting to the Assistant Provost of Institutional Research (IR), the role will provide technical support to Office of Institutional Research. The Institutional Research Technical Assistant supports the Office of Institutional Research by assisting with data collection, analysis, reporting, and maintenance of institutional data systems. This role contributes to evidence-based decision-making by ensuring data accuracy, producing reports, and supporting research initiatives related to student outcomes, institutional effectiveness, and compliance. This position will assist with the day-to-day operations of the office.
Position Duties
- Create, maintain, and document innovative and user-friendly reports, dashboards, and visualizations for operational and analysis needs of IR to inform strategic planning and policy development . Cleanses, transforms, and validates data from a wide variety of sources. Be a liaison with IT to develop new and innovative tools to keep IR on the cutting edge and operational efficiency Maintains existing reporting workflows, offering improvements where necessary. Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across institutional systems. Assist with preparation and dissemination of reports and presentations as needed. Monitor Institutional Research’s email account and disseminating data and other requests as appropriate in a timely manner. Assist in maintaining the IR website and in educating colleagues on the uses of institutional research and data in general. Represent the IR office and university by serving on various campus committees and through participation in external groups. Monitor data quality and identify discrepancies or inconsistencies. Support requests for data and information from campus stakeholders. Ensure compliance with data privacy, security policies, and ethical standards.
