- Conduct on site inspection of Telecom & IT systems installations (fiber optic cables, networking equipment, telecom rooms, etc.)
- Ensure all installations comply with approved drawings, technical specifications, and project standards
- Monitor contractor activities and verify adherence to safety and quality standards
- Inspect systems including structured cabling, fiber optic networks, CCTV, PIS, PA, and access control
- Prepare inspection reports, non conformance reports (NCRs), and daily activity logs
- Witness and validate testing & commissioning activities for telecom and IT systems
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electronics, IT, or related field
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in Telecom & IT inspection, preferably in transportation projects
- Knowledge of telecom infrastructure, networking fundamentals, and low current systems
- Familiarity with testing tools (OTDR, cable testers, network analyzers)
- Attention to detail and strong observational skills

Overview
- The Inspector – Telecom & IT is responsible for inspecting, monitoring, and ensuring the quality and compliance of telecommunications and IT systems deployed in transportation projects. This includes systems such as fiber optics, CCTV, passenger information systems, and network infrastructure across
Your Role
- Conduct on site inspection of Telecom & IT systems installations (fiber optic cables, networking equipment, telecom rooms, etc.).
- Ensure all installations comply with approved drawings, technical specifications, and project standards.
- Monitor contractor activities and verify adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Inspect systems including: Structured cabling systems, Fiber optic networks, CCTV and surveillance systems, Passenger Information Systems (PIS), Public Address (PA) systems, Access control and security systems.
- Verify testing, commissioning, and integration of systems.
- Prepare inspection reports, non conformance reports (NCRs), and daily activity logs.
- Review method statements, shop drawings, and material submittals.
- Maintain accurate records of inspection activities and findings.
- Witness and validate testing & commissioning activities for telecom and IT systems.
- Ensure proper documentation of test results and system performance.
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and project stakeholders to resolve issues.
- Support project engineers in tracking progress and closing inspection comments.
About You
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electronics, IT, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum 3+ years of experience in Telecom & IT inspection, preferably in transportation projects (metro, rail, airport, or ITS).
- Experience working on site supervision or inspection roles.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of Telecom infrastructure and cabling systems, Networking fundamentals (LAN/WAN, switches, routers), Low current systems (CCTV, access control, PA systems).
- Familiarity with: Testing tools (OTDR, cable testers, network analyzers), Relevant industry standards (TIA/EIA, ISO, IEC).
- Domain Knowledge: Understanding of transportation systems and operations, Familiarity with ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems) is an advantage.
- Soft Skills: Attention to detail and strong observational skills, Good communication and reporting abilities, Ability to work in a fast paced site environment.
