Responsibilities
- Read and understand package contract documents, drawings, specifications, and health and safety measures
- Ensure contractors comply with standards and specifications through observation, measurements, and testing
- Maintain records of contractor's manpower and equipment daily resources
- Undertake all site supervision and inspections when required by the Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer
- Document contractor's personnel, equipment, activities, location, and methods
- Report on materials delivery and implement site instructions
- Apply and implement all quality controls and quality procedures of the site
- Prepare site measurements and surveying checks as needed
- Monitor conformance to quality, performance, and code requirements
- Monitor Health and Safety of construction works and report violations
Requirements
- Bachelor degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- 7 years of overall experience (minimum 5 years in the MEA)
- Experience in Mechanical and transportation projects
- Experience in Construction Supervision with a Consultancy
- Good knowledge of basic design requirements and Mechanical methodologies
- Knowledge of Building Codes
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Competent at writing reports in English
- Detailed knowledge of construction techniques
- Familiarity with construction safety practices and regulations
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
- Fluency in English

Overview
- The Mechanical Inspector will ensure the contractors are compliant with the contract documents, coordinate with other teams, document and verify quality and quantity of work, and process Inspection Requests and technical submittals.
Your role
- Reading and understanding the package contract documents, detailed drawings, specifications, and health and safety measures.
- Ensuring the Contractor(s) are complying with the standards and specifications of the contract documents through observation, measurements, and testing.
- Maintaining records of the Contractor's manpower and equipment daily resources.
- Undertaking all site supervision and inspections when required or instructed by the Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer.
- Documenting the Contractor's personnel and equipment, activities observed, location, reason, and methods utilized.
- Reporting on materials delivery and following and implementing any site instructions.
- Applying and implementing all quality controls and quality procedures of the site.
- Preparing any site measurements and surveying checks needed by the leader.
- Monitoring conformance to quality, performance, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.
- Monitoring Health and Safety of the construction works and reporting on violations.
Qualifications
- Experience in Mechanical and transportation projects is required.
- Candidates must have experience in Construction Supervision with a Consultancy.
- 7 years of overall experience (minimum 5 years in the MEA).
- Bachelor degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is required.
Specific Skills Required
- Good knowledge in basic design requirements, familiar with Mechanical methodologies and installation processes and procedures.
- Knowledge of the Building Codes.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Competent at writing reports – can present views clearly and concisely in good written English.
- Detailed knowledge of construction techniques.
