Ingénieur(e) en simulation et essais – HVDC/ Simulation & Testing Engineer – HVDC

You will support HVDC projects by developing and configuring simulation models using RSCAD and Hypersim while contributing to testing and validation activities.

In this role, you will participate in Factory System Testing (FST), assist with the execution and review of test scenarios, and collaborate closely with engineering teams to align testing scope, setup, and execution.

You will maintain test documentation, including configurations, procedures, and results, while supporting the continuous improvement of testing tools, processes, and methodologies.

Through simulation, testing, and innovation, you will play an important role in verifying system performance, ensuring project quality, and supporting the delivery of reliable power transmission solutions.

• Create and configure simulation models using RSCAD and Hypersim for HVDC applications.
• Support project testing activities, contributing to system validation and quality assurance.
• Participate in Factory System Testing (FST), including the execution, monitoring, and review of test scenarios.
• Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of testing processes, tools, and methodologies.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to align testing scope, setup, and execution plans.
• Maintain accurate documentation of test configurations, procedures, and results.
• Contribute to lessons learned initiatives and knowledge-sharing activities across project teams.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, integrity, and operational excellence.
• Ensure compliance with applicable internal procedures, company standards, and external regulations.

• Must have valid work authorization permitting employment with Hitachi Energy in Canada.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Practical experience in electrical engineering, preferably involving power systems or high-voltage equipment.
• Familiarity with real-time simulation platforms such as RTDS and OPAL-RT.
• Experience with RSCAD and/or Hypersim is considered a strong asset.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to understand complex systems from a broader engineering perspective.
• Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating within cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Fluency in English is required; proficiency in French is also required.
