- Diagnose, evaluate, and manage a broad spectrum of infectious diseases in inpatient and outpatient settings
- Provide specialist care for complex infections including sepsis, HIV/AIDS, TB, viral hepatitis, and healthcare associated infections
- Lead and support hospital wide infection prevention and control initiatives
- Lead antimicrobial stewardship programs to optimize antibiotic utilization and minimize resistance
- Participate in outbreak investigations, containment planning, and contact tracing
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including ICU, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Microbiology, Pharmacy, and Public Health
- Educate and mentor physicians, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals on infection prevention and antimicrobial stewardship
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement projects, and policy development
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with UAE healthcare regulations
Requirements
- MBBS, MD, or equivalent medical qualification from a recognized institution
- Board Certification / CCT / American Board / Canadian Board / Equivalent Specialist Qualification in Infectious Diseases
- Minimum 5 years of experience practicing as a Consultant in Infectious Diseases
- Demonstrated expertise in complex infectious disease management, infection control, antimicrobial stewardship, outbreak response, and care of immunocompromised patients
- Strong leadership, clinical judgment, and decision making skills
- Excellent communication, teaching, documentation, and multidisciplinary collaboration abilities
- Experience in multicultural healthcare environments is highly preferred

Position Overview
- We are seeking an experienced and highly qualified Consultant Physician – Infectious Diseases to join a leading healthcare facility in Dubai, UAE.
- The successful candidate will provide expert care for patients with complex infectious conditions, lead antimicrobial stewardship initiatives, strengthen infection prevention programs, and support the highest standards of patient safety and clinical excellence.
- This position plays a vital role in managing communicable diseases, healthcare associated infections, emerging infectious threats, and infection related complications while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, evaluate, and manage a broad spectrum of infectious diseases in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Provide specialist care for complex infections including sepsis, HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, Viral Hepatitis, Healthcare associated infections, and emerging infectious diseases.
- Deliver expert consultations for immunocompromised patients, critically ill patients, and complex antimicrobial management cases.
- Review laboratory results, microbiology cultures, antimicrobial sensitivity reports, imaging studies, and clinical progress to develop evidence based treatment plans.
- Lead and support hospital wide infection prevention and control initiatives.
- Develop, implement, and monitor infection control policies, isolation protocols, and surveillance programs.
- Participate in outbreak investigations, containment planning, contact tracing activities, and infection reporting requirements.
- Lead antimicrobial stewardship programs to optimize antibiotic utilization and minimize antimicrobial resistance.
- Work closely with Intensive Care, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Microbiology, Pharmacy, Public Health, Nursing, and other specialty teams.
- Educate and mentor physicians, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals on infection prevention, antimicrobial stewardship, and emerging infectious diseases.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement projects, morbidity and mortality reviews, and policy development activities.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation, consultation reports, treatment recommendations, and follow up plans.
Qualifications & Requirements
- MBBS, MD, or equivalent medical qualification from a recognized institution.
- Board Certification / CCT / American Board / Canadian Board / Equivalent Specialist Qualification in Infectious Diseases.
- Minimum 5 years of experience practicing as a Consultant in Infectious Diseases.
- Demonstrated expertise in complex infectious disease management, infection control and prevention, antimicrobial stewardship, outbreak response and surveillance, and care of immunocompromised and critically ill patients.
