Role Overview
AWS Infrastructure Services designs, delivers, and operates global data center infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling.
The ICT Design Engineer will help design critical communications pathways, spaces, and cabling within AWS data centers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop pathway, space, and cabling designs and construction and permitting specifications for the physical layer.
- Define product requirements with industry suppliers and manufacturers and explore emerging technologies.
- Deliver scalable fiber optic and copper plant designs and specifications on schedule.
- Review and approve ICT pathway, cabling, and equipment submittals.
- Identify and respond rapidly to risks and high-priority issues.
- Support designs and technologies that improve infrastructure quality and reduce cost and installation time.
- Travel 10-20% to review projects and coordinate with onsite personnel and contractors at AWS data centers.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience in industrial or commercial engineering for mission-critical facilities, including data centers, power generation, or oil and gas facilities.
- Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods for data center equipment and facilities.
