About the Role
Air Products (Middle East) FZE is seeking a HYCO Shift Supervisor to lead operations of the Steam Methane Reformer unit in Jubail, ensuring safety, reliability, and production targets.

- Provide and maintain a safe work environment, demonstrating leadership with safe work processes.
- Provide direction to staff of the HYCO Steam Methane Reformer unit and ancillary equipment.
- Provide operations support and lead the team during startups, shutdowns, and emergencies.
- Manage plant production efficiently based on data driven decisions to ensure safety and reliability targets.
- Ensure compliance with all CM, PM tasks and environmental regulatory requirements.
- Coach and motivate the operations team to achieve operational excellence.
- Act as single point of contact for internal issues of HYCO units.
- Maintain accurate logs and ensure operator logs are compliant.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Chemical Process Operations preferred; associate degree considered with experience
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in gas, petrochemical, or related industries in operations, engineering, or maintenance
- At least 4+ years in line supervision of process operations roles
- Proficiency in English speaking and writing

Principal Accountabilities
- Provide & maintain a safe work environment. Demonstrate leadership with all company & industry safe work processes to prevent injuries.
- Provide direction to the staff of the HYCO Steam Methane Reformer unit and ancillary equipment as prescribed by the Work Instruction Procedures. Operate the unit when required.
- Provide direction & guidance based on technical feedback from Assistant Site Manager, Site Manager, Engineering and Maintenance for troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and test activities.
- Provide Operations support, guidance & lead the team during the startups, shutdowns and emergencies of the plants. Maintain accurate document control and monitor quality assurance initiatives.
- Provide Operations guidance to ensure safety, reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls, and safety/security systems.
- Provide Operations input for scheduled outages to ensure contractual requirements are achieved.
- Manage plant production efficiently based on data driven decisions to ensure safety and reliability targets are met to achieve maximum profitable.
- Work closely with Shift Team, Assistant Site Manager, Site Manager, Maintenance Team and Engineering team to ensure production targets are achieved in his shift, plant running at optimum energy efficiency and safely.
- Ensure the safety of all operations personnel by utilizing the APQ Basic Safety Practice program, which includes Safety Work Permits, LOTO, Confined Space, etc.
- Ensure all Environmental Regulatory requirements are met.
- Ensure compliance to all CM, PM tasks.
- Support and prepare for Shutdown Planning and Turnaround Planning.
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical, Mechanical, or Chemical Process Operations preferred. An associate technical degree (2 year certificate) will be considered based on years of experience and competence.
- Experience in gas, petrochemical, or related industries in operations, engineering, and/or a maintenance function. Demonstrated HYCO knowledge a plus, with a minimum of 10 years’ experience with 4 + years in line supervision of process operations roles.
- Expectation based on level of experience for the operations team to achieve a ‘Level 1 / Board Level’ status within 2 – 4 years.
- Proven coordination experience in a multi team environment which includes operations, engineering, and maintenance.
- Good leadership, interpersonal and teamwork skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively throughout all levels within the organization and externally.
- Ability to communicate and manage customer interactions on a daily basis.
- Wide technical knowledge in operations, engineering, and maintenance activities.
- Proficiency in English speaking and writing.
- Knowledge and understanding of local environmental and health and safety requirements.
