  • You will work closely with operational teams, contract leadership and clients to support safe, compliant and efficient delivery.
  • Maintain and promote high standards of health, safety, environmental and quality compliance across operational activities.
  • Carry out site inspections, assurance visits and verification checks, ensuring findings and non-conformances are followed through to effective closure.
  • Support accident, incident and near-miss investigations, helping teams identify root causes, learn lessons and implement practical corrective actions.
  • Encourage positive intervention reporting, unsafe act and condition reporting, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
  • Produce weekly and monthly updates that highlight achievements, trends, risks, issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Work with operational teams to drive timely close-out of corrective actions raised by internal compliance reviews, client feedback and external audits.
  • Compile accident and incident statistics for the contracts you support and contribute to client and contract performance meetings.
  • Build strong working relationships with supervisors, operatives, contractors, clients and support functions to improve ways of working.
  • Be a visible HSEQ presence on site and in the office, coaching teams and promoting safe, responsible and professional behaviours.
  • Support training and competency compliance, helping ensure operational teams have the right skills, knowledge and authorisations to work safely.
  • Assist the Quality Assurance and Environmental Lead with management system requirements and accreditations, including ISO 45001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
  • Continue to develop your knowledge of our services, our clients and the wider utilities sector as the business grows.

Experience and Qualifications

  • You will hold a recognised health and safety qualification, such as NEBOSH Certificate, NEBOSH Construction or an equivalent qualification.
  • You will hold, or be working towards, IOSH membership.
  • Experience in the utilities sector, or working around electrical cabling and LV jointing activities, would be advantageous.
  • Experience working in Distribution Network Operator environments would be highly beneficial.
  • You will be confident carrying out audits, inspections and assurance checks both independently and alongside operational colleagues.
  • You will be capable of supporting or leading incident investigations, identifying root causes and helping deliver meaningful corrective actions.
  • You will be comfortable in a hands-on, site-facing role, regularly engaging with operational teams and visiting live work locations.
  • You will have strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence site teams, contractors and client representatives in a practical and supportive way.
  • You will understand the importance of CDM compliance and have experience working within a utility, construction or power infrastructure environment.
  • A full UK driving licence is required for this role.
