Job Purpose

  • To assist in implementing and maintaining Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards on site, ensuring compliance with company policies, client requirements, and applicable regulations while promoting a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify unsafe conditions or practices.
  • Assist in implementing the project HSE Plan and company safety procedures.
  • Ensure all workers use the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings under the guidance of the Project Manager.
  • Monitor work activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations and permit to work requirements.
  • Report hazards, near misses, incidents, and accidents promptly.
  • Assist in incident investigations and prepare preliminary reports.
  • Maintain HSE records, inspection reports, training records, and safety documentation.
  • Monitor housekeeping standards and ensure work areas remain clean and safe.
  • Verify that firefighting equipment, first aid kits, and emergency equipment are available and properly maintained.
  • Assist in emergency drills and evacuation exercises.
  • Coordinate with site supervisors and subcontractors to ensure safe work practices.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, Engineering, or a related field.
  • NEBOSH IGC, IOSH Managing Safely, or equivalent HSE certification is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of UAE HSE regulations and construction safety practices.
  • Fresh graduate or up to 2 years of relevant experience in construction or industrial projects.

Skills & Competencies

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic knowledge of risk assessment and hazard identification.
  • Ability to prepare reports and maintain records.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Good observation and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and under supervision.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace.
