Our Environment Business provides "source to sea" asset delivery capability across the UK and Scotland, delivering both framework and standalone projects for some of the UK's leading water companies.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive HS&E Advisor to join our Environment Business.
Reporting to the Framework HS&E Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of Galliford Try's Health, Safety and Environmental strategy across a range of projects and frameworks. Working closely with operational teams, clients and supply chain partners, you will help ensure our projects are delivered to the highest standards of health, safety and environmental performance.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for an HS&E professional looking to further develop their career within a leading infrastructure and environmental business.
As HS&E Advisor, you will:
Support the development of an inclusive, open and collaborative HS&E culture across the business.
Assist with implementing our HS&E strategy and continuous improvement initiatives.
Promote Galliford Try's behavioural programme, Challenging Beliefs, Affecting Behaviours , supporting positive safety and environmental behaviours.
Support the implementation of our HS&E Management System, ensuring alignment with company and client requirements.
Provide technical advice and specialist guidance to operational teams on health, safety and environmental matters.
Engage with clients, supply chain partners, regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Support project teams from planning through to completion, ensuring compliance with HS&E standards.
Monitor HS&E performance using KPIs and help drive improvements across projects and frameworks.
Contribute to initiatives that improve performance, reduce risk and enhance compliance.
Attend project meetings and provide professional advice to project management teams.
Escalate HS&E concerns appropriately and support the implementation of corrective actions.
Work collaboratively across projects and functions to deliver HS&E excellence.

Support operational teams in implementing safe systems of work and environmental controls.
Provide practical guidance throughout the project lifecycle from planning and design through to construction and completion.
Conduct regular workplace inspections and HS&E reviews.
Undertake site safety audits and environmental audits.
Support ISO 14001 compliance activities.
Record findings within company systems and provide recommendations for improvement.
Monitor trends and identify opportunities to improve project performance.
Deliver training sessions, toolbox talks, awareness campaigns and best practice guidance.
Support the onboarding and review of supply chain partners.
Investigate incidents, non-conformances and near misses.
Produce detailed reports, identify root causes and recommend preventative measures.
Manage incident reporting and close-out through Galliford Try's M2i system.
Liaise with regulatory authorities where required.
Produce monthly reports and present findings to project leadership teams when required.
