Position Summary

The Housing Coordinator is responsible for creating and overseeing housing applications, maintaining accurate student placement rosters, and managing daily operations within the Office of Housing and Residence Life to ensure efficient residential services for students.

Essential Job Duties

  • Maintain accurate rosters of student placements in Residence Halls and monitor check-in/check-out processes.
  • Build and monitor housing applications for Fall, Spring, and Summer terms.
  • Adjust student accounts in housing software to reflect accurate pricing and track available spaces.
  • Oversee housing office operations including inquiries, paperwork, and student worker management.
  • Serve as liaison between facilities/maintenance/custodial services and residence hall staff.
  • Manage student meal plan assignments and account charges.
  • Coordinate maintenance requests and track project updates.
  • Manage residence hall mail services.
  • Train and supervise office student workers.
  • Assist Director of Residence Life in Developing and implementing Housing policy and procedure.
  • Ensure that Residence Directors are trained in interacting with and properly utilizing Housing Management Software.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or designee.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 1-2 years of experience
  • Experience in student housing or residential life preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong organizational skills with ability to maintain accurate records and manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for effective interaction with students, staff, and external partners
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and housing management software systems
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and records
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience in training and supervising others
  • Must have a strong work ethic and lead by example
  • Must be a professional, credible and respected representative of the institution internally and in the community
  • Demonstrated willingness and ability to act ethically and socially responsible
  • Ability to communicate in a courteous manner
