Position Duties

Inspects, diagnoses, services and repairs helicopter airframes, engines, transmissions, rotor systems, gear boxes, control assemblies, instrumentation/electrical systems, hydraulic systems, accessories and law enforcement technology systems and equipment, in accordance with the manufacturers' manuals, notices, bulletins and Airworthiness Directives as issued by the Federal Aviation Administration. Evaluates helicopter fleet safety of flight conditions Reports discrepancies/problems. Participates in check flights to aid in aircraft troubleshooting and diagnostics. Evaluates maintenance work to be performed in terms of time required, parts needed and costs involved. Records and maintains aircraft maintenance records. Logs books and other records. Ensures safe work practices are used when performing maintenance and repairs.
