About the Role

- Deliver patient care and service which is safe and timely under direct supervision of registered nursing staff
- Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, grooming, toileting, and feeding
- Perform manual handling tasks such as patient transfers and mobility
- Perform and record basic vital signs as delegated
- Maintain cleanliness in patient rooms and ensure a safe environment
- Communicate effectively with patients and families, providing emotional support

- Qualified Healthcare Assistant with relevant training
- Ability to assist with activities of daily living and manual handling tasks
- Competency in taking and recording basic vital signs
- Understanding of patient confidentiality and data privacy

Responsibilities
- Under the direct supervision of the Registered Nursing Staff, will deliver patient care and service which is safe and timely.
- All direct patient care provided by healthcare assistants should be toward adult patients who do not require critical care or high dependency care.
- Healthcare assistants shall not have a role in the provision of any invasive procedure.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and escalate accordingly reflective of the chain of command.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned within his/her scope and ability.
- Support the escort of patients within the Clinical setting.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, toileting, and feeding, under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
- Perform manual handling tasks, such as patient transfers and mobility, based on competency and experience.
- Perform and record basic vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, oxygen saturation) as delegated.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and data privacy at all times.
- Provide assistive care to tracheostomized patients under the direction of a registered nurse, ensuring proper training and updated competencies.
- Engage in play activities with pediatric patients under the supervision and guidance of licensed nurses and therapists, where appropriate.
