Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial/Chemical Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or related scientific discipline
- At least one of: NEBOSH National or International General Certificate, IOSH Managing Safely, OSHA 30 Hour (General Industry), or Certified Chemical or Biological Safety qualification
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Occupational Health and Safety
- Strong understanding of Biosafety principles and BSL containment levels
- Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 requirements related to laboratory safety and infrastructure
- Experience in safe handling of hazardous chemicals and management of SDS/MSDS documentation
- Knowledge of hazardous and medical waste management procedures
- Understanding of cross contamination prevention protocols
- Familiarity with regulatory and governmental safety requirements
- Ability to conduct Risk Assessments and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Proficiency in both Arabic and English

Job Overview
- We are seeking a qualified Health, Safety & Biosafety Specialist to support laboratory operations and ensure compliance with occupational health, safety, chemical safety, and biosafety requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial/Chemical Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or a related scientific discipline (e.g., Chemistry, Biology, Laboratory Sciences).
- Preference will be given to candidates with a background in chemical and biological safety due to the nature of laboratory work.
Professional Certifications
- Candidates must possess at least one of the following certifications: NEBOSH National or International General Certificate, IOSH Managing Safely, OSHA 30 Hour (General Industry), Certified Chemical or Biological Safety qualification (e.g., CHMM or equivalent).
Technical Knowledge & Competencies
- Strong understanding of Biosafety principles and BSL containment levels for handling biological samples.
- Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 requirements related to laboratory safety and infrastructure.
- Experience in the safe handling of hazardous chemicals and management of SDS/MSDS documentation.
- Knowledge of hazardous and medical waste management procedures.
- Understanding of cross contamination prevention protocols to protect personnel, equipment, and laboratory processes.
- Familiarity with relevant regulatory and governmental safety requirements, including fire safety, ventilation systems, and chemical storage standards.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Previous experience in forensic laboratories, medical laboratories, or forensic evidence environments is highly desirable.
Additional Skills
- Ability to conduct Risk Assessments and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Proficiency in both Arabic and English for official documentation and communication with regulatory authorities.
- Strong training and awareness skills for technical staff.
Pay
- AED 10.00 AED 20.00 per month
