The role requires a technology-first engineering leader with deep technical credibility and the ability to lead engineering at scale.
Leadership Profile
Lead product engineering for enterprise banking platforms while challenging architecture decisions and driving engineering excellence.
Remain technically engaged with architecture, technology, and the product build lifecycle rather than focusing only on people management.
Engineering Strategy and Architecture
- Own the end-to-end engineering charter covering architecture, development, engineering quality, scalability, and technology evolution.
- Define and drive the engineering and technology roadmap aligned with product and business strategy.
- Own architecture and technology decisions for scalability, performance, security, reliability, and maintainability.
- Drive evolution toward microservices, API-first, and cloud-native architectures.
Team and Delivery Leadership
- Lead and develop high-performing engineering teams while maintaining strong technical depth.
- Drive engineering excellence across design, coding standards, DevSecOps, automation, testing, performance, and release quality.
- Lead AWS-based and cloud-native engineering and deployment practices.
- Partner with Product, Architecture, Delivery, and Business teams to translate product strategy into scalable technology solutions.
Technology Adoption
- Drive effective adoption of Java, Python, and open-source technologies across the engineering stack.
- Identify opportunities to incorporate AI/ML and GenAI capabilities into product and engineering workflows.
Must-Have Experience
- At least 19 years of overall technology, banking, or engineering experience with significant leadership experience.
- At least 15 years of banking or BFSI technology experience.
- Proven experience building and scaling technology products, rather than primarily managing delivery or teams.
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture, API design, and distributed systems.
- Strong experience with AWS, cloud platforms, and cloud-native application development.
- Strong technology foundation in Java and open-source technologies.
- Experience leading senior engineering teams and making enterprise-level architecture and technology decisions.
Preferred Experience
- Direct experience in Trade Finance and/or Supply Chain Finance technology or products is strongly preferred.
- Experience modernizing large or legacy banking platforms into cloud-native, API-led architectures.
- Understanding of Trade Finance ecosystems, integrations, and banking platforms.
- Awareness of AI/ML and GenAI use cases in banking products and engineering productivity.
